Beyond the Zero Down Payment

Everyone knows VA loans offer zero down payment. But Texas veterans have access to benefits that go far beyond that. Here's what you might be missing.

Texas Property Tax Exemptions

If you have a VA disability rating, Texas offers property tax exemptions that can save you thousands per year:

On a $400,000 home with a 2.5% tax rate, that's $10,000 per year you're not paying.

VA Funding Fee Exemptions

The VA funding fee is typically 2.15% of your loan amount for first-time use. On a $400,000 loan, that's $8,600. But if you have a 10% or higher disability rating, this fee is waived entirely.

Texas Veteran Land Board (VLB)

The Texas VLB offers programs specifically for Texas veterans:

These can sometimes be combined with VA benefits for additional savings.

Use the Command Center

We built the Veteran Command Center specifically for this. The calculator handles disability gross-up, residual income testing, and shows you what exemptions apply to your situation.

Your service earned these benefits. Make sure you're using them.
